Integrated Pest Management

With Integrated Pest Management (IPM) or the «Principle of Integrated Production» practiced in Switzerland, the principle applies that chemical control measures are used only if preventive and non-chemical measures do not provide adequate protection of crops from harmful organisms can. If the use of plant protection products is necessary, measures are taken to contain the risks.

A chemical measure is the treatment with chemical substances and substance mixtures. Chemical control measures are also allowed in organic farming (e.g. treating plants with copper salts, sulfur, pyrethrins, etc.).
