Resource efficiency

Resource efficiency is understood to mean the yield of a certain product in relation to the resources used, such as capital, labor, raw materials or land. Sustainable agriculture must be resource efficient. It must achieve higher crop yields with constant or decreasing use of resources such as arable land, labor, direct payments / finance, energy, water, plant protection products and fertilizers as well as conservation of natural resources and the climate.

The main challenge for global agriculture in the future will be to increase agricultural crop yields in order to feed the growing world population adequately and healthily, despite global warming, water scarcity and limited space and a lack of labor. To achieve this, intensive research is required without blinkers and an innovative industry that develops new solutions for agriculture and that can safely register and thus offer them. Only in this way can sufficient healthy food be provided for the world's growing population in the future.
